Frijid Pink - House Of The Rising Sun

Frijid Pink wurde 1967 von fünf Schulfreunden in Detroit gegründet. Detroit war in dieser Zeit ein Mekka des Punk - Garagen Rock. Von hier kamen Bands wie MC5, Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, Question Mark & The Mysterians oder Bob Seger. Nach zwei Jahren gewannen Frijid Pink bei einem Wettbewerb einen Plattenvertrag bei "Parrot".
Die wohl beste Coverversion von "House Of The Rising Sun" auf der ersten Platte landete im Februar 1970 sofort nach dem Erscheinen auf Rang 7 der Billboard Charts.

Tom Harris ging und wurde durch Thomas Beaudry ersetzt.
Zwei weitere Singles kamen noch unter die Top 100 (Sing A Song For Freedom und Heartbraek Hotel). Das erste Album Frijid Pink schaffte es bis auf Rang 11, das folgende "Defrosted" nur noch auf den 149 Platz. Es ging bergab mit Frijid Pink. Die Besetzung wechselte nach den Misserfolgen, aber es half nichts. Zwei Alben erschienen zwar noch, wurden aber kaum beachtet. Frijid Pink wurde mit The House Of The Rising Sun zur typischen Eintagsfliege in der Rockgeschichte.
